Your guide on how to treat your new tattoo while it heales
– Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo!
Normal film: Remove the film after 4 hours, (or shorter time if i told you in person to do so) Gently wash your tattoo only using your hands. Dip the tattoo dry with a paper towel, let it air dry for 1 min and apply a thin layer of ointment
Ointment: I recommend using Panthenol ointment – It is available in most pharmaceutical stores. Always use clean hands. Be sure to rub the ointment on so it is not greasy. Ointment 3 times daily as needed.
After day 4-5: In 4-5 days, your tattoo might start to peel and itch. This is normal! Do not peel on the skin. Continue using Pantothenol Ointment
AVOID the following while your tattoo heals: Do not peel, itch, rub or irritate your tattoo. You can take a shower, but avoid your tattoo being exposed to too much water for 2 weeks. No swimming, soaking or hot tub. No sauna. Do not wear abrasive materials, jewelry, or shoes that may rub against your tattoo. Do not wear wool directly on the bare tattoo as long as it has not healed properly. The woolly hairs may penetrate the wound and cause an infection. Dont let anyone touch your tattoo unless they wash their hands first. Take care of exercise equipment, wash it well before use. Do not expose your tattoo to direct sun before it is healed. After healing i recommend to use sunblock if exposed to direct sun, the first year
Wear clean, soft clothing over your tattoo for the first 2 weeks
After one ore two weeks you tattoo has healed and within the following months it will settle even further into the skin. You and your sacred marking will become one ~
